The British Royal Navy introduced a daily rum ration, known as a "tot," in 1731. This ration was given to sailors as a reward for their hard labor, a morale boost, and even as a form of medicine. 

Initially, the rum ration was given out neat, but it was later mixed with water to create "grog". 

The term "keel over" refers to boats and ships falling or overturning.

The last day of the rum ration in the Royal Navy was July 28, 1970, and it is now known as "Black Tot Day".

Hot Chocolate came to the UK in the 17th century and was considered a rare and luxurious drink in England. It was made by dissolving chocolate shavings or cocoa powder in hot water or milk and was often served in special chocolate houses.
