Gins and Rums for the Adventurous
Just over two years ago I launched the Adventurers Drinks Company, with the aim of developing a range of drinks inspired by modern day adventurers and the landscape they explore.
Like all small start up businesses it has been a challenging journey, but with over six drinks now marketed under the Adventurers Drinks Company brand its starting to feel like I am on the right track.
I initially launched the business with Rowers and Peak Baggers Gin at the back end of 2022, just as I set off on my second row across the Atlantic Ocean. Each of these drinks have great back stories to which the botanicals in the gins connect.
In 2023 I set in motion celebrating Sir David Hempleman-Adam's achievement of walking to both the north and south pole and climbing the highest mountains on all seven continents, with the creation of Explorers Grands Slam Gin. Botanicals from all seven continents are used in the crafting of this gin. I raised over £1,000 for Prostate Cancer UK at the gins auction launch at the back end of 2024.
In 2024 Ella Hibbert came on my radar. She had launched a bid to sail single handed around the artic circle. My Keel Over Sailors Rum was inspired by Ella and the challenge she had set herself. You can follow Ella on instagram @ellainthearctic
In 2025 Kenton Cool made contact, asking if I had considered an Everest Gin. I immediately said yes, knowing the Himalayas are home to many of the botanicals found in gin. At the time of contact, Kenton had climbed Everest 18 times and so I asked him if he was going to climb it again would he collect some snow from the summit of Everest so we could put a little in each bottle of gin. In mid 2025 we launched Everest Gin, crafted with botanicals found in the Himalayas and with each bottle contacting a drop of melted snow collected from the summit of Everest by Kenton on his 19th successful ascent.
