Kendal Mountain Festival, the ions-8 session with some true Peak Baggers
This is the week of the Kendal Mountain Festival. The UK's biggest adventure festival.
At this year’s inov-8 Endurance Session, presented by inov-8 ambassador, winner of the Lakeland 100 and Lakes 24 hour record holder Andy Berry, and world renowned sports dietician and ultra runner Renee McGregor, they’ll be interviewing…
James Gibson - the first person to complete continuous Wainwrights rounds in two seasons – Winter 2021 and Spring 2022; becoming the first person to achieve solo and unsupported sub-24 hour completions of all three UK mountain rounds (the Paddy Buckley, Bob Graham and Ramsay Round) in winter; and making the first completion of the Trans Cuillin - linking up all 70 summits of Skye’s Black and Red Cuillin, covering 75-km over highly technical terrain.
Jamie Aarons - This summer she broke the record for the fastest self-propelled continuous round of all 282 Scottish Munros, completing the round in 31 days, 10 hours and 27 minutes - that’s 817 miles on foot, 516 miles by road bike, 230 miles by mountain bike, 30 miles by gravel bike, and seven miles by kayak.
Both are clearly great examples of Peak Baggers.
